Floor coatings in New York City and the Hudson Valley
We cross the bridge most weeks. In the city the work is mostly commercial and multi-unit: parking levels, loading areas, workshops and building basements. In Westchester and Rockland it is mostly houses.
What we see here
City work means access. We plan around loading docks, freight elevators and building hours, and we can work nights where the building needs it. Parking levels need a system that stands up to turning tires and salt, so we specify a thicker build and a slip-resistant top layer for those.
In Yonkers and the older parts of Greenburgh, detached garages from before the war often have thin slabs with a lot of surface damage. We will tell you honestly if a slab is too far gone to coat, because a coating over bad concrete fails and we would be back under warranty.
Ramapo and the newer subdivisions have bigger attached garages and cleaner slabs, which are straightforward jobs.
